NBA Analyst Thinks Cavaliers Are Perfect Team For LeBron And Bronny James To Play With Each Other: ‘What Better Place For Father And Son To Play Together?’

One NBA analyst thinks the Cleveland Cavaliers are the perfect team for LeBron and Bronny James to play with each other.

Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report believes LeBron and Bronny could thrive together on the Cavaliers.

“What better place for father and son to play together? The Cavs could use both, as even if Cleveland makes it past the Orlando Magic in the first round, this team doesn’t look championship-ready. Adding LeBron to a core of Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen and others would certainly change that,” Swartz wrote. “Getting LeBron on board would make it far more likely that Mitchell signs an extension with the Cavs, a team that already has Garland (also a Klutch client) under contract until 2028.

“Even if Bronny needs to spend the majority of his 2024-25 season in the G League, he won’t be far away. The Cleveland Charge are just a three-minute drive from Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, giving LeBron plenty of chances to take in his son’s games. This certainly has some storybook ending potential for James’ career, playing out his final few seasons in his backyard while his son begins his own career where LeBron’s started.”

LeBron can become an unrestricted free agent this summer if he declines his 2024-25 player option with the Lakers worth $51.4 million. The four-time MVP and four-time Finals MVP is the best player in Cavaliers franchise history and adored by Cleveland fans.

Bronny has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft while retaining his college eligibility. He has also entered the transfer portal.

Bronny averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.2 blocks for USC this season while shooting 36.6% from the field, 26.7% from beyond the arc and 67.6% from the free-throw line.

“Bronny used to be a regular in the Cavs locker room after games,” Swartz wrote. “Now, he could have his own.”

Despite being the oldest player in the NBA, LeBron is still an elite player. He averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists this season while shooting 54.0% from the floor, 41.0% from 3 and 75.0% from the free-throw line.
